About

Originally from Italy, Dr. Alice Dell’Era holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and a Master of Arts in International Studies from Florida International University. She also received a master’s degree in Modern Languages for International Communication from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. Dr. Dell’Era serves as Research Fellow at the Italian Center for Geopolitical Studies Geopolitica.info, where she coordinates their China and Indo-Pacific Desk. In 2023, she was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Mansfield Next Generation of U.S.-Japan Nuclear Policy Experts training program, sponsored by The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation. She is also a member of the Pacific Forum Young Leaders Program. Dr. Dell’Era’s research centers on the geopolitical and security dynamics of the Indo-Pacific, with a particular focus on Japan’s foreign and security policy and the extensive network of US alliances and partnerships in this region. She has conducted research on Tokyo’s strategic narratives and its contributions to the alliance with the United States. In addition, she has researched NATO and Italy’s perspectives on Asia and Japan. Her latest project examines the drivers behind the Global Combat Air Program (GCAP), a trilateral partnership between Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom for the development of a 6th generation fighter jet.
