Dr. Dattel has a Ph.D., in Human Factors Psychology, an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and an M.B.A. in Aviation. Dr. Dattel is an Assistant Professor in the School of Graduate Studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. He is the Director of the Cognitive Engineering Research in Transportation Systems (CERTS) Lab. Dr. Dattel’s research interests include adaptive automation, training, situation awareness (for pilots and air traffic controllers), inattentional blindness, fatigue, decision making, and expertise. Dr. Dattel is a Commercial Pilot (SEL, MEL, Instrument) and a Certificated Flight Instructor, CFI, CFII, MEI). Dr. Dattel is also a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
