David Warnock-Smith

David Warnock-Smith is Associate Dean Operations and Academics and Professor of Aviation Management at Embry Riddle Worldwide College of Business. He has a professional background in airport handling, rail operational planning and tourism management (accommodation) and over 20 years of experience as an aviation education leader, researcher, adviser, trainer and consultant. His clients have included the Caribbean Development Bank, the UK Department for Transport, Etihad Airways and the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO). He is also certified course instructor with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and a Fellow of Advance HE, the UKs Higher Education Academy. David works on applied aviation research and consultancy projects. His projects have focused on the economic and social impact of air transport to regional and island economies, worldwide airline ancillary revenue innovations, increasing long-distance transport connectivity for underserved regions and creating sustainable airport surface access strategies. David holds a Ph.D. in Air Transport Economics from Cranfield University. He is a member of the Airports Council International (ACI) Economics Committee and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCILT).
