Edward F. Trombley, III

Edward F. Trombley III is Registrar at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide. With more than 35 years of experience in education, he has also served as Senior Operations Manager, Registrar’s Office at Walden University; Registrar at DeVry University in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. metro regions; and Dean of Administration at Bryant & Stratton College in central New York. He served two terms as President of the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (FACRAO) and as President of the regional Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO). He was awarded the SACRAO Distinguished Service Award in 2026 for his contributions to the association. He has previously served as the Vice President for Topics in Higher Education for SACRAO, and as a Nominations & Elections Committee member, and FERPA Cabinet member for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Mr. Trombley has presented at numerous state, regional and national conferences on topics including support for military and veteran students, working with non-traditional students, and collaboration between admissions officers and registrars. He is a contributing author to AACRAO publications including The Transfer Handbook: Promoting Student Success (2015), AACRAO Guide to Graduation Ceremonies (2017), AACRAO’s Professional Development Guidelines for Registrars: A Self-Assessment (2018), AACRAO’s Student Records Management: Retention, Disposal, and Archive of Student Records (2019), and AACRAO’s Academic Record and Transfer Guide (2020). He collaborated with AACRAO Senior Fellow Dale King as a contributing chapter editor for AACRAO’s Navigating the Evolving Landscape of Student Privacy Under FERPA (2026). Additionally, he has authored or co-authored articles in publications including The Chronicle of Higher Education Headcount Blog, AACRAO’s College and University journal, AACRAO Connect “Field Notes,” and The SACRAO Journal. Mr. Trombley holds both a Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Science in Education, from the State University of New York, College at Oswego.
