Emily Dux Speltz, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Humanities & Communication in the College of Arts & Sciences – Worldwide. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics & Technology and an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language/Applied Linguistics from Iowa State University.
Dr. Dux Speltz’s research explores applications of innovative technologies—including generative artificial intelligence, keystroke logging, and eye tracking—in the writing process and education. Her recent work has been supported by a National Science Foundation grant exploring text production and comprehension by human and artificial intelligence.
