Joanne L. DeTore, Ph.D., is a tenured Associate Professor of Humanities and Communication at the Daytona Campus and the former University Director of Diversity Initiatives working for President John Johnson from 2007-2010, overseeing diversity initiatives on all three campuses. Her interests also include diversity and inclusion, STEM/aviation and women, popular culture and film, gender, race, and ethnicity, motherhood, crisis communication and public relations, communications and gender, cross-cultural communication, and diversity training.
