Personal profile

About

I am a Retired Partner in the Global Finance Group of Sidley Austin LLP resident in the New York office. I practiced in the area of asset-backed finance (including aircraft financing for regional airlines) since graduating from law school in 1981. I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and am a member of the Bar in both New York and Georgia. Prior to attending law school, I earned a graduate degree in anthropology and served on active duty in the Army (Infantry Branch) in Asia and Europe. I had a wonderful time in the military and remained in the Army Reserve until retiring in 1998. I attended law school and business school after fulfilling my active duty obligation and graduated with JD and MBA degrees (as well as with a fondness for a particular young lady who eventually agreed to become my wife). After retiring from the active practice of law after 36 years, I rewarded myself by pursuing an LLM in Air and Space Law at the Institute of Air & Space Law at McGill University in Montreal. I learned to fly while I was in law school and have pursued the joys of general aviation ever since. I am particularly delighted to be involved with the ERAU community where aviation related matters form a central focus.
