About
Dr. Parida's research focuses on developing data-driven physics-informed tools, using probability theory, physics informed neural networks and explainable machine learning, for analysis of complex dynamic systems. This eliminates the complacency of a purely empirical approach based only on sparse measurements, often encountered in such systems, by ensuring that physics of the problem is captured. Moreover, any associated uncertainty is also robustly quantified. Current and past research includes application of these tools to structural engineering and geotechnical engineering. He is currently funded by NSF Civic Stage 1 grant to co-design a living seawall for coastal resiliency while taking into account climate change and environmental well being.
