Personal profile

About

Dr. Smith is very passionate about teaching modern methods for nonlinear differential equations statistical model building with applications towards engineering. His research interest began within his doctoral studies under some very well-respected professionals from the field of nonlinear partial differential equations (including the father of Nonlinear Analysis, Dr. Lak). During his first years here at ERAU, he published many articles, both with colleagues sole authorship, in applying these methods to differential equations utilized within the aerospace industry, such as the mathematical equations of fluids nonlinear waves. Recently, Dr. Smith has been doing student research projects publications in the arena of financial mathematics, as he has found such applications very exciting! For future research, Dr. Smith is interested in improving statistical modeling through machine learning techniques, especially applied nonlinear regression models.
