About

Dr. Henkel served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1992 as an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent, Community College of the Air Force Department Chair, and Professional Military Education Commandant. After his career in the Air Force, Dr. Henkel entered academe, holding several positions at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to include Associate Regional Dean of Academics and Department Chair. At Embry-Riddle, he led the project to create a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management and a Bachelor of Science in Project Management. Currently, Dr. Henkel is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Leadership Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide Campus, Daytona Beach, FL. His research areas are leadership, management, project management, and aviation. His current research interests are in the project manager personality traits, project manager engagement, transformational leadership, and Human Resource Management. Dr. Henkel has advised and coached multiple undergraduate and graduate students. He also serves as the Vice President of Education for the NE Florida Project Management Chapter that has over 1,000 members. He holds the PMP certification. Dr. Henkel has 13 peer reviewed journal publications and has presented at 17 Conferences as of July 2019.
