Abstract
The 475th Medical Group has a very successful patient relations program. Out of 2,581 questionnaires submitted by patients in 1990, positive comments exceeded negative comments by a 6 to 1 ratio. The 475th Medical Group sees an average of 8,000 outpatients on a monthly basis. The ability to meet both the technical and psychological needs of patients contributes greatly to the perception of quality health care. Responses on the questionnaires indicated that 82 out of 100 patients believed they received good or better care. How does a hospital enjoy such a good relationship with its patients?
