Abstract

"Cellular phones and other mobile devices are increasingly in their sophistication, capabilities, and ubiquity. Therefore, mobile devices contain probative information in an ever-growing range of civil and criminal investigations. This paper describes basic cell phone terminology, concepts, and technology as an introduction to the digital forensics examiner. Locations of information on the phone, advice for the proper seizure and storage of cell phones, and tools with which to extract data are also presented."--publisher's website
