Abstract

In recent years, the aviation industry has focused more and more on the evaluation and assessment of human factors associated with accidents and incidents. This may be because the percentage (and absolute number) of aviation accidents attributable solely to mechanical failures has decreased remarkably over the past 40 years, but the percentage of aviation accidents due to human factors has remained between 70% and 80%.
