Abstract

This chapter offers several broad observations and recommendations about military intervention in internal conflict to help inform policies toward current and future cases of this complex undertaking. It also summarizes the major lessons from each case study. It does so not only by tapping the wealth of detailed information in chapters 1-8, but also drawing upon contributions of the many scholars and other nongovernment experts who participated in the Project on Internal Conflict .
