Abstract

A fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) is a graphical means of representing arbitrarily complex models of interrelated concepts, the implications of which can be calculated simply via matrix algebra. The paper discusses the use of FCMs for providing qualitative information about complex models in social and behavioral science research; specifically we show how FCMs can be used to reveal implications of models comprised of dynamic social and psychological processes.
