Abstract

This chapter concentrates on the N200 and expands into a more theoretical domain, namely, the nature of the relation between N200 and N400. The authors urge readers of this chapter to first read a chapter by Marta Kutas and Cyma Van Petten, titled, "Event-Related Brain Potential Studies of Language," which was published in volume 3 of this series, Advances in Psychophysiology, 1988, pp. 139-187. The chapter by Kutas and Van Petten covers the N400 in detail.
