Abstract

In this article, we will present and evaluate three research procedures which a psychologist might use to
study some of the factors believed to be responsible for the problems identified above. The procedures are analogue studies, simulation studies, and policy capturing. Because of space limitations, we will restrict our discussion
to how the three research procedures can be used to study personnel decisions about female managers, that is, peoples' reactions to, evaluations of, and decisions about female managers.
