Abstract
Using a product optimization technique, researchers determinedaviation doctoral students’ bliss point of course design that optimizes the mix of activities that students indicate provide the highest level learning effectiveness in the course. Students responded about their opinions of the quality of learning effectiveness of various current types of activities. Using conjoint analysis on the data collected, the results indicate that a mix ofjoint research projects, student-graded discussion boards, peer review exercises, and student-created exams deliver the best learning experience in an aviation doctoral online course. Findings for this analysis will be used as an indication to the University’s course design teams to consider when creating more effective mixes of activities that deliver the course learning outcomes in a student-preferred manner.
